 Homebase Profiler Agent
The process starts with a Profile that contains vital information such as production server hardware configuration, operating system levels, system tuning, network connections, system boot files, and information pertaining to data storage (including information on Dynamic Disks and Logical Volume Manager).
The Profile is transmitted to the Homebase server, where it is uploaded, indexed and stored for future use. Management of the stored Profile is provided through a web based GUI which delivers functionality such as smart Profile retrieval and automatic archiving management.
An optional feature also allows the Profile to be automatically replicated to additional off-site secure servers, providing contingency for recovering a Profile during a site-wide disaster. These stored Profiles can be provided as required during a disaster.

Once the required Profile has been selected, Homebase retrieves it from the repository for use on the target recovery server. In addition, the recovery engineer can elect for Homebase to automatically generate the recovery logic / instructions necessary to launch the parent application in order to rebuild the target recovery server, thus further automating the recovery process.
Data can then be recovered from the backup media, and normal end-user functions can be restored using traditional data restore tools (e.g. Tivoli TSM, VERITAS Netbackup).

The Homebase Configuration Management feature allows you to track your assets comprehensively, giving you flexibility in recognition of any residual value present in upgrades or add-ons at any given time during the asset’s lifetime.
